Our standard check-in time is 14:00.
You may process your check-in upon arrival or store your luggage until your room is prepared.
Your rooms are guaranteed to be ready anytime after 2pm.
You may have the option to check-in early for a nominal fee, based upon availability.

From 1st October to 30th April, the reception is open from 8:00 to 16:00.
From 1st May to 30th September, the reception is open from 8:00 to 22:00.
You can check-in at anytime after opening time.

Check-out time is until 11:00.
After your departure we have a luggage store where we can keep your bags if needed.

Late checkouts are available for a nominal fee and are based upon availability. Please contact the reception team for more information.

From 1st October to 30th April, the reception is open from 8:00 to 16:00.
From 1st May to 30th September, the reception is open from 8:00 to 22:00.
To check-out before reception opening time, it is very easy : you just need to leave the key inside the room, on the desk.

In case of emergency it is possible to contact our team 24h/24, 7d/7.
You can give us a call on the emergency phone number: (+354) 778 8307.
If you are at the hostel, you can also use the bell system of the entrance door.

We have 3 different houses and the room location depends of our availability.
The check-in has to be done at the reception, in the main House, on Flókagata 1.
During the check-in, we will give you the room location and all instructions.
But if you have a specific request and would like to choose in which house to stay, please feel free to contact us.

Yes, it is possible to book a airport transfer to and from the airport.

Yes, we have a free parking area at the front of the main building.
There is a large parking across the street and it is possible to park your car on the street for free all around the hostel.

Yes, bed linens and towels are provided and included in the price of your booking, for all kind of rooms, including dormitory.
Towels will be refreshed every 2 days. Bed linen will be changed every 4 days.

Yes, we have a limited number of hairdryer and adapter for a fee of 1.000 ISK per stay, based upon availability.
You can ask at the reception at your arrival or you can contact us to book it in advance.

Yes, in every rooms there is a refrigerator and a kettle.
You have also a fridge in the common kitchen with all cooking facilities.

You can decide each day if you want to have it. No need to book it in advance.
We also offer a breakfast to take away. You need to book it at the reception one day in advance.

We can advice and help you to book tours and activities at the reception.
For most of the excursions, there is no need to book in advance.

If you want to go to the Blue Lagoon, we recommend to book in advance.

Our staff can welcome and advise you in English, French, Polish, Spanish and/or German.

Is it possible to ask for an extra bed in my room? 2017-04-11T21:25:15+00:00

We can add a extra bed in some rooms or upgrade a booking.
It is subject to availability.

You need to ask us at least 48 hours before arrival.
We will send you a written confirmation to let you know if it is possible.

We can not accept requests made at the last minute or on arrival.

Please contact us as soon as possible for any questions regarding extra beds.

We have a limited number of baby cot available for child under two years old.

If your child is older than two years old, he will sleep in an ordinary bed.
For example, a couple with a three-year-old child would stay in a triple room (3 people).

Please contact the hostel for any questions regarding cots.

All of our guest rooms and floors are non-smoking. Please note that e-cigs, vapors, hookahs, etc. fall under our non-smoking policy.
We do have designated smoking areas throughout outdoor areas.

It is possible to book online a maximum of 4 rooms.

For a group booking or a booking of more than 4 rooms, you need to contact us directly at info@hostelvillage.is .
Specific conditions and extra charge may applied.

Special requests can be made when making your booking online.
You can also contact us by email at info@hostelvillage.is or with the contact form.

Special requests are not guaranteed and will be honored depending on availability at check-in, but we will do our very best to accommodate the request.

To change or cancel a reservation made online that is within the cancellation time frame, please contact us at info@hostelvillage.is.
If you made a booking on a partner website, you need to contact them directly to modify or cancel it.

Yes, we require a credit card for all reservations.

This guarantees your room until your arrival date.
Your credit card will not be charged until you arrive at the hostel unless special offer requires prepayment or a deposit prior.

Prepayment, deposit and cancellation requirements will be displayed during the online booking process.

Is my account debited immediately when I provide my bank card number on your website or do I pay at the hostel when I check-in? 2017-04-11T22:47:55+00:00

Your bank card number is used to guarantee your room booking.
You will not be debited and will pay for your stay at the check-in, unless otherwise mentioned in the rate description and conditions of sale (for example, non-refundable offer with a payment online on the day of the booking).

What is your cancellation policy? 2017-04-11T23:16:37+00:00

For all regular rates, you can modify or cancel for free a booking upon 2 days before arrival.

Reservations with prepayment (non-refundable offer) cannot be changed and/or canceled in any way, and sums paid in advance as a deposit cannot be refunded.
This is indicated in the conditions of sale for the rate and during the reservation process.

In case of a late cancellation (two days before arrival or less) or in case of a no-show, the full agreed price of the booking will be charged.

If the stay is terminated early by the customer, the full agreed price will be paid.

Will my credit card be charged if I forget to cancel my room reservation? 2017-04-11T22:44:05+00:00

Yes. Reservations are guaranteed to your credit card.

To avoid being charged, reservations must be cancelled at least 2 days before arrival.
Take time to review the cancellation policies for each rate during the booking process.

We need to have your name, your check-in and check-out date.

We accept MasterCard, Visa, and American Express.

If you want to pay by cash, we also accept Euros (€), US Dollars (USD), Pounds (GBP) and Danish Krona (DKK).
If you prefer to use your bank card, you will be charge in our local currency (ISK).

We do not offer exchange service.
If you want to exchange currency, you need to go to the bank opened from Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 16:00.

We accept payment in other currencies.
